George Henry Garrison, 78

February 27, 1948 – June 21, 2026

George Henry Garrison affectionately known as “Geese” was born February 27, 1948, to the late Johnnie Mae Jenkins and Will Todd Jr. At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined the Mt. Zion Taska Missionary Baptist Church.

George was united in marriage to Pearlie Mae McLemore on October 10, 1970. To this union they raised three children together, Ricky, Bonito (Bo), and LaQuita. George was always firm and unfiltered in truth with all he encountered. He was a man who said what he meant and meant what he said. Though he never minced words, those who knew him best understood that beneath his tough exterior he had a deep and unwavering love for his family.

George passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving children. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, parents, two sisters – Gurley Ree & Johnnie Ree, & two brothers – Larry & Ike. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Ricky, Bo & LaQuita (Al), three sisters, Lizzie Mae Jenkins, Beulah Hines, and Nola “Kitty” Garrison. Three granddaughters, MarQuita McLemore, Chiquita Burse, and Nasheika Burse, two grandsons, Christopher Garrison and Tyler Smothers. Two great granddaughters, Rozie Renee & Azalea Garrison, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Mt. Zion Taska M.B. Church on 519 S Mt. Zion Road, Byhalia, MS 38611.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Mt. Zion Taska M.B. Church on 519 S Mt. Zion Road, Byhalia, MS 38611.

Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Taska M.B. Church on 519 S Mt. Zion Road, Byhalia, MS 38611.
