June 27, 1949  –  August 21, 2026

PALMETTO – Palmetto- Dennis Cobb, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026. He was born June 27, 1949 in Tupelo to the late Joe and Helen Bright Cobb. Dennis attended Stuttgart High School and later attended Itawamba Community College. He was employed with Dosset Big 4 for many years before going to work for the Lee County Sheriff’s Department. He spent his final working years at Todd’s Big Star, where he enjoyed meeting many friends.

Dennis was a lifelong member of Oak Valley Christian Church, where he taught Sunday school in his younger years. His faith and his church were an important part of his life. Dennis enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and had a genuine appreciation for the things that brought him happiness. He loved music, especially Elvis, and enjoyed spending time outdoors riding horses and going on trail rides. He could often be found watching Mississippi State basketball or settling in with a good Western. More than anything, Dennis loved his family and treasured the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters, Traci Watson of Saltillo, and Lora Mask of Tupelo; his grandchildren, Brittany Watson (Nathan) of Saltillo, Woody Watson II (Caroline) of Starkville, Mississippi, Clayton Mask and Maggie Mask of Tupelo; his great-grandchildren, Reed, Rowan, and Brynleigh; his sister, Karen (Jim); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Helen; his brother, Daniel Cobb and an infant son, Dennis Bradley Cobb and the mother of his children, Jeanie Belk Cobb. Dennis will be remembered for his faith, his love of family, his appreciation for the outdoors and music, and the many memories he made throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
