William Sappington, 61

January 10, 1965 – August 22, 2026

William Carl Sappington, known to many simply as William, passed away on August 22, 2026, at the age of 61 following a motor vehicle accident.

Born on January 10, 1965, in Shelby County, Tennessee, William was the son of Carl and Peggy Wooley Sappington. William was a Christian whose faith was an important part of his life. He was known as a man who valued family.

He is survived by his son, Eric Sappington; his sister, Yvonne Shook; and his brothers, Timothy Sappington and Mark Sappington. He also leaves behind many who will remember him with love and gratitude for the time they shared. William’s family was central to his life, and the relationships he built with them were among his greatest treasures.

William was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Sappington; his sister, Donna Sappington; and his brother, Raybon Clayton. Their memories remained close to his heart, and he is now reunited with them in eternal rest.

Those who knew William will remember his enduring spirit, and the strength he carried through life. He will be remembered not only for the hardships he endured, but also for the love he gave, and the family he cherished. A traditional obituary cannot fully capture the depth of a life, but it can honor the memory of one who mattered deeply to others.

Services to honor Williams will be on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 1:00PM and visitation will be from 11:00am until the start of the service both at United. Burial will follow at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery.
