Brenda Vinson Hare, 82

January 25, 1944 – September 14, 2026

Tupelo – Brenda Vinson Hare, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026, in Tupelo while receiving care from Gentiva Hospice. Brenda was born on Tuesday, January 25, 1944, to Josh W. Vinson and Ida Mae Homan Vinson.

Brenda lived a life rooted in her faith, her family, and the simple things that brought her joy. She was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church, and her faith was an important part of who she was. Brenda was employed as a clerk at the Lee County Health Department, Lee County Chancery Clerk’s Office and the Itawamba Community College in Tupelo. Outside of work, she enjoyed sewing, cooking and online shopping. She loved Word Search books, recipe books and coloring in her adult coloring books as well as her favorite TV show, The Wheel of Fortune.

Although Brenda never had children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She took great pleasure in spoiling them and continued that same love and affection with her great, great-great-, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Her family says that more than anything, she loved seeing people happy, and she found great joy in making others feel loved and cared for.

Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Hare; her parents, Josh W. Vinson and Ida Mae Vinson; her sister, Gara Lynn Malesky; and her brother, Jimmy Vinson.

She is survived by her nieces, Vanessa Brazeal (Mike) and Vicki Shouse; her nephews, Mike Vinson (Marsha), Lann Malesky Jr., and Lowell Malesky (Katie); and a host of great, great-great-, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Home Hospice and its caring staff, especially Chaplain Patrick, Brittany, RN, and Teresa, CNA, for the compassion and care shown to Brenda and her family.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Pegues, Tupelo.

The funeral service honoring Brenda’s life will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Mike Brazeal officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Vinson, Ryan Vinson, Corey Shouse, Jake Brazeal, Heath Brazeal, Ricky Lowery, Josh Wearron, and Greg Neisler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Beckett Vinson and Brenlee Brazeal.
