Jimmy Wayne Hale, 75

January 29, 1951 – October 25, 2026

Mooreville – Jimmy Wayne Hale, 75, was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born to Thomas Hale and Bessie Irene Willis Hale on Monday, January 29, 1951, in Lee County, Mississippi.

He grew up with his brother and three sisters in Plantersville before beginning his life with his own family in Mooreville, where he resided for the rest of his life. He attended Itawamba Junior College where he earned certification in auto body repair. Jimmy joined the United States Army, proudly serving his country, until he was honorably discharged due to a disability. He remained a patriot his entire life, never taking for granted the sacrifices of others for freedom, and always showing gratitude to God for blessing our country.

Jimmy met Deborah Juanita Scott, a beautiful, tall, redhead, who became the love of his life, and married her in a quaint ceremony on June 8, 1973. They had two sons and built a wonderful life together that lasted 53 years, gaining two daughters-in-law and producing seven grandchildren.

He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, building things, and working with his hands. He learned how to do many things over the years, and he delighted in sharing his knowledge and skills with others around him. Jimmy would help guide others with their projects such as working on vehicles, building houses, and repairing equipment. When he wasn’t advising someone on a project, he could often be found sitting outside reading books or talking on the phone with friends and neighbors.

Jimmy enjoyed getting to know people, making connections, and finding a way to relate to others, never shying away from topics such as politics and religion. He was always up for a good discussion, especially about his faith, and he frequently shared his faith with others, including people he newly met. He always wanted others to know the truth about God’s Word. He was a Baptist and an ordained deacon, serving the church until he was unable to attend services due to his disability.

Jimmy is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Deborah Hale; sons, Johnny Hale (Lori) and Matthew Hale (Cindy); brother, Tommy Hale; sister, Teresa Hale Carroll; grandchildren, Courtney Hale, Mary Grace Hale, John Preston Hale, Cameron Hale, Chloe Hale, Josie Mae Hale, and Eddie Mac Hale; and a host of nieces and nephews, including Joe Putt (Glenda).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bessie Hale; and sisters, Susan Jenkins and Madine Dickey.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Pegues, Tupelo.

The funeral service honoring Mr. Jimmy’s life with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Johnny Hale and Bro. Joseph Putt officiating.
