An arbor will soon be completed in downtown New Albany “pocket park”
A new arbor is under construction in the small pocket park across Bankhead Street from the New Albany police station. The City of New Albany is building the arbor, which will be a welcoming place to “sit a spell” and enjoy a little shade on a sunny day.
Workers with C and A Constructive Company were busy Thursday setting the large vertical timbers that will support the structure. The arbor is expected to be completed before this weekend.
A sculpture called “Swamp Flower,” by Louisiana artist Mia Kaplan, was installed in the park near the Tanglefoot Trailhead on March 19, 2017.
