Arlene Porter, 84

Arlene Malone Porter passed away on June 6, 2026, at Magnolia Place in New Albany, Mississippi, at the age of 84. She was born on August 27, 1941, in Lee County, Mississippi, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and a warm spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
Arlene was the daughter of the late William Austin Malone and Clara Mae Davis Malone. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Porter; her sisters, Jennie Hill, Frances Young, and Clara Miller; and her brother, Hurshel Malone. These family members held a special place in her heart throughout her life, and she carried their memory with love and grace.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Floyd and husband Tim, and her son, Jody Porter and wife Bridgette. Arlene was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, Shanna Daniel, Jenna Cook, Madison Bennett, Skyler Floyd, Spencer Floyd, Molly Porter, and Mason Porter. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Bentley McGreger, Wes Cook, Emma Cook, Niyah Murrah, Ezra Floyd, and John Declan Floyd, who brought her great joy and pride.
Arlene began working at Futorian Mfg. many years ago and would later retire from Genesis Mfg. She was known as a dependable and hardworking woman who took pride in doing her job well. Her strong work ethic and steady presence were qualities that reflected the way she lived her life every day.
A Christian by faith and a member of Enterprise Baptist Church, Arlene found strength and comfort in her beliefs. She lived with a gentle heart and was known by those around her as loving, friendly, and kind. She had a natural gift for making others feel welcome, and her presence brought warmth to family gatherings and everyday visits alike.
Arlene especially enjoyed cooking for her family and for anyone else who happened to visit at mealtime. She found happiness in preparing meals and sharing them with others, and many will remember her hospitality with gratitude and affection. She also loved working in the yard and took great pleasure in caring for her home. Decorating was another favorite pastime, and she especially enjoyed making everything festive for Christmas. She was also a wonderful storyteller, and her stories will be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to hear them.
Arlene Malone Porter will be remembered for her loving nature, her friendly smile, and her kind heart. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, family devotion, and simple joys shared with those she loved. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
A visitation will be on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at United Funeral Service from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Will Carpenter officiating. Burial will be at Enterprise Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mason Porter, Brandon Cook, Dustin Daniel, Skyler Floyd, Kelly Porter and Bentley McGreger.
