Baptist Union County Hosting Community Health Fair
Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County will host a free community health fair on Thursday, October 3 from 7 to 9 a.m. in the front lobby of the hospital.
Free screenings include cholesterol, blood glucose, triglycerides, blood pressure, bone density, coronary risk factor assessment, and Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA). Free flu vaccines will be available for participants over the age of 18 years old. Several community resources will be represented including area clinics, educational booths, and specialized services. Participants should be 18 or older, fast after midnight, and diabetics should consult their physician first.
“We are committed to improving the collective health of the community as well as reducing health disparities,” said Ann Bishop, CEO and administrator of Baptist Union County. “The free health fair is a great opportunity for community members to get an accurate picture of their overall health, which can help them make informed decisions about preventative screenings and lifestyle changes.”
