Beverly Hays, 83
March 31, 1943 – May 23, 2026
Beverly Hays, 83, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at Sanctuary Hospice. She was born on March 31, 1943, in Texas to Harlan and Beverly Sammons Rose.
Beverly lived a life centered around caring for others. She worked for many years as an ICU Unit Secretary at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. She had a gentle heart and a natural ability to make people feel comforted and cared for.
More than anything, Beverly loved her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, siblings, and loved ones. Whether she was preparing a home-cooked meal, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time together, she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. She was an excellent cook whose meals brought family and friends together around the table, and she never missed an opportunity to make someone feel welcome.
Beverly also found great joy in reading and could often be found with a good book in her hands. She loved both fiction and nonfiction and enjoyed learning new things and escaping into stories. Her quiet strength, thoughtful nature, and loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Baker of Coldwater, Mississippi; her son, Kelly Baker of Spanish Fort, Alabama; her sisters, Kathleen Harris and Sherri Russell, both of Highlands, Texas; her brother, Billy Rose of Perkinston, Mississippi; and two beloved grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband and the father of her children, Harry Lee Baker; her husband, Douglas Hays; her sister, Carole Vernier; and her brother, Jack Rose.
Though her family’s hearts are heavy with loss, they find comfort in the many memories she leaves behind and in the love she shared so freely throughout her life.
Associated Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the Baker and Rose families during their time of loss.
