“Beyond the Tracks” at Union County Heritage Museum – June 20, 2024
Three years ago, the Union County Heritage Museum launched a series of music and storytelling concerts. Our very first feature was about then 10 year old Gracey Williams, a fourth grader at New Albany Elementary School who had been studying under the expert tutelage of blues guitarist, Garry Burnside of the infamous blues family, the Burnsides of Hill Country Blues. In the past three years, Gracey has performed at the Hill Country Picnic, the Women in Blues Festival and so much more. She has become a fixture at blues festivals and concerts all over the region.
Gracey is now 13 years old and about to enter the eighth grade at New Albany Middle School. She has recently been working with local musician Mike Carter to expand her repertoire of songs. The two will perform together on June 20, 2024 at 6 pm in the Main Gallery of the Union County Heritage Museum. This free event will be a fun evening and will definitely be a great place to bring your kids to inspire their inner artist!
