Billy B. Taylor, 80

December 23, 1943 – April 27, 2024

SMITHVILLE – Mr. Billy B. Taylor, 80 died at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was born on December 23, 1943 to the late Ellis and Florence Cox Taylor in Itawamba County, where he was a lifelong resident.

Billy was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, boating, and growing his garden. He served his country in the Army for 14 years. When he returned to Itawamba County he went to work for BSNF Railroad, from which he retired. When Billy was able he also loved woodworking. Billy was a founding member of Community Baptist Church in Smithville. He was very active in the church and a faithful member.

Billy is survived by his three children, Kevin Taylor, Kenneth Taylor, and Jennifer Fisher; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Dudley; sisters, Earnestine, Willadean, Kathleene, Nella Fay, and Linda Ann. Billy is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 24 years, Linda Alred Taylor, who died February 2, 2022; son, Billy Gene Taylor; and several brothers and sisters.
