Celebration of the Hallelujah Trail of Union County will honor century-old churches, at Magnolia Civic Center March 7.

The Rust College A’Cappella Choir will perform at a free Celebration of the Hallelujah Trail of Union County.

The public is invited to a Celebration of the Hallelujah Trail of Union County with a performance of the Rust College A’Cappella Choir on Saturday, March 7, 2026, 12 noon at the Magnolia Civic Center at 127 East Bankhead, New Albany, MS.

The world-renowned ensemble known for classical gospel and spiritual works has been inspiring audiences in the 1930s when the choir first organized. The choir has performed across the United States, Europe and South Africa and was selected for the 36th Annual International Verona Competition in Italy in March 2025. The choir’s repertoire includes a variety of music , including classic gospel and spiritual songs.

The free event focuses on a selection of Union County churches, which were established for more than 100 years. The Hallelujah Trail was established by the Union County Heritage Museum in 2017 as part of the State of Mississippi Bicentennial Celebration. The century old churches in Union County number 58.

The celebration includes pick-up refreshments beginning at 11:30 and the program from 12 noon to 1. Come and celebrate the more than 100 year legacy of worship in Union County at noon March 7, 2026, 12 – 1.
