Community Christmas Tree Lighting 2017 in Cooper Park

Tree lighting 2017

An estimated 200 people gathered in New Albany’s Cooper Park to participate in the Community Christmas Tree Lighting.

On a beautiful, warmish, almost-December evening, the crowd found plenty to enjoy at the tree lighting event, and it was apparent that everyone enjoyed the ceremonies and attendant activities. There were a variety of musicians from local schools supplying holiday music throughout the two-hour event, hot chocolate, a live Nativity and more. But, the horse-drawn carriages that recently began serving New Albany’s downtown area were, perhaps, the biggest hit of the evening, with riders still in line after the close of the official ceremony.
