At the first November meeting of the Union County Board of Supervisors, the first item on the agenda was an executive session.
The stated purpose of the closed meeting was the discussion of possible litigation The board met with Joe Davis, a New Albany attorney, for about 10 minutes before coming back into open session.
Steel-Con, a construction company with offices north of New Albany on Highway 15, was the low bidder for maintenance and repair work to be done on a bridge on County Road 46. The bridge is District Two in the western part of the county.
The Steel-Con bid was $35,750. The only other bid received was for $48,500 from McBride Construction Company. There was apparently a difference in the way the two bidders proposed to accomplish the repair work on the bridge. The board took both bids under advisement.
