Cynthia “Cindy” Poe, 75

June 25, 1948 – December 3, 2023

MOOREVILLE – Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Ferrell Poe met her Creator from North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo at 3:15 PM Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, after a lingering illness. She was 75 years old. Born in Memphis on June 25, 1948, Cynthia was the daughter of the late Edward Ferrell, Sr. and Pauline Tutor Ferrell. She spent her first few years in Yazoo County, MS before settling in Northeast Mississippi the remainder of her life. Cynthia spent her working life in the furniture industry where she was a master seamstress, retiring from Action/Lane Industries. Cynthia loved her family dearly. She and her late husband, Gary, who died April 13, 2017, had 4 children and Mamaw enjoyed being grandmother and great-grandmother to the only grands in the world, according to her. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden and flowers, fishing, and hummingbirds. In her younger days, she enjoyed boating at Bay Springs and horseback riding.



A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM today (Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023) in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with Bro. Kyle Vernon officiating. Visitation will be from Noon-service time today (Tue). Mamaw is survived by her children, Bobby Rodgers (Jean), Steven Rodgers (Pam), Frankie Rodgers (Angie), and Patricia Armstrong (Tony); grandchildren, Katesha Smith, Danielle Youngblood, Dakota Rushing, Justin Rodgers, Allen Armstrong, Cooper Armstrong, Stephanie Rollins, Adam Rodgers, Chad Rodgers, Lisaanne Rogers, Eric Spencer, Savannah Rausch, and Nicole Rodgers; 22 great-grands and 2 great-great-grands; sisters, Paula Bailey and Carlene Ellis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Yazoo City area.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary Poe; grandson, Neal Rodgers; brother, Edward Ferrell, Jr., and sister, Jackie Miller.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Adam and Chad Rodgers, Allen and Cooper Armstrong, Easton and Eli Rodgers, Justin Rodgers, Dakota Rushing, Jacob Abbott, Eric Spencer, Ethan Mears, and Preston Winkler.
