Earline Goggins, 88

November 21, 1934  –  August 26, 2023

TREMONT / SHANNON – Anna Earline McMurry Goggins, 88, died at the Courtyards in Fulton after an extended illness. Born in Shannon on November 21, 1934 to the late Norman McMurry and Hattie Rodgers McMurry, Earline grew up in Shannon and attending the public schools there. She married Marlin Goggins on Jan. 21, 1973, and he died on May 13, 2008. Early in life, Earline worked at HIS Sportwear in Verona and for Landau Uniforms in Olive Branch where she and Marlin lived several years. Later in life, she was a housewife and homemaker. She was a lively, independent lady who enjoyed gaming venues. Earline was a member of Doty Chapel Baptist Church.



A service celebrating her life will be held at 5 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2023 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. Private burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery. Earline is survived by her children, Mike Davis of Nashville, and Lynn Burt of Tremont, who has been her primary caregiver the last decade or so; a sister, Helen Hall of Okolona; three grandchildren, Suzy Moore, Eric Burt, and Justin Davis; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Moore (Camryn), Anna Kate Moore, Hunter Burt, Easton Burt, Olivia Burt, and Kinley Burt; one great-great-granddaughter, Rollins Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Goggins; the father of her children, Billy Gene Davis; her siblings, Christine Taylor, Buck McMurry, Oneal McMurry, John McMurry, Dale Coker, and Tee McClarty; her son-in-law, Wayne Burt; her daughter-in-law, Tammie Davis; and her grandson, Dakota Davis.
