East Union students get introduction to engineering

Union County, MS- Sixth grade students are getting an introduction to engineering in Mrs. Heather Richards’ class at East Union Attendance Center, and engaging in hands-on learning to apply scientific technology and knowledge.

Participants were introduced to engineering by working in teams of 4 to solve a problem. They created a tool using a string and a rubber band that could be used to stack a group of cups into a pyramid.

Team members worked in groups to pull their strings to expand the rubber band, then pick up the cup to stack.
