Emley Ruth Schuster Dowden, 70, of Tupelo, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo.

Born on November 25, 1955, in California, Emley was the daughter of Sterling Schuster and Barbara Bone. She lived a life filled with adventure, love, and devotion to those she held dear.

Emley enjoyed riding horses, attending rodeos, traveling, and taking cruises to explore new places and create lasting memories. She was especially fond of her beloved cats, Jasper and Shadow, who brought her much companionship and joy. Above all, Emley cherished her family and treasured the time spent with them.

She leaves behind to honor and cherish her memory her husband, Darrell Dowden of Tupelo; her daughter, Nancy Purdue of Tupelo; her son, Darrell Dowden, Jr. of Pontotoc; her brother, John Ben Schuster; her grandchildren, Lynette Child, Corben Child, Dalton Dowden, and Carson Dowden; and her great-grandchild, Jace Child.

Emley was preceded in death by her father, Sterling Schuster, and her mother, Barbara Bone.

In accordance with her wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
