Frances Marie Levan Nance, 95

March 8, 1928 – October 27, 2023

Frances Marie Levan Nance, 95, resident of Ripley, passed away Friday October 27, 2023, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.



Funeral services honoring the life of Ms. Nance will be Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11 A.M. in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Lovett officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday, November 3 at Ripley Funeral Home and will continue from 9 A.M. until service time on Saturday, November 4, 2023.  Burial will follow in the Nance Cemetery.

Ms. Nance was born March 8, 1928, in Paducah, KY, to the late Benjamin Levan and Lillian Cope Levan. She received her education in the Michigan Public School System and in earlier years owned and operated a janitorial service in Texas, called “Kleen Sweep.” After moving to Tippah County, she became very involved in the Tippah County Good Samaritan Center, serving as a director.

A Christian and member of Heart Song Church, she will be remembered as an avid reader, who enjoyed history and caring for her precious grand and great-grandchildren.  Ms. Nance had a caring personality who never shied away from helping others and “taking people under her wings.”

Those left to cherish her memories include, three daughters, Thelma James, Barbara Nance, and Nancy Friedel (Robin), one son, William Fondaw, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin Franklin, Jr., and Thomas Edward.
