Freddie Churchill, 71, passed away on October 28, 2023, at New Albany Health and Rehab in New Albany, MS. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Freddie was born on July 5, 1952, to Amos Coy Churchill and Oda Pence Churchill  in New Albany.

Throughout his life, Freddie found joy in pursuing his hobbies and interests. He proudly supported the New York Yankees and followed their games closely. Besides being a passionate sports fan, Freddie had a talent for playing guitar and creating beautiful music. He was a music minister for several years at Bethel Baptist. Whether strumming chords alone or joining in with others, he found solace and happiness through his musical endeavors. Freddie’s face would light up when he played with his beloved grandkids, cherishing every moment spent together.

Freddie will be deeply missed by his surviving family members and friends who were fortunate enough to have shared their lives with him. Patricia Churchill stood by his side as his loving wife throughout their journey together. Their daughters Melissa Foster (Ian) and Heather Parker (Josh) brought immense pride and delight to Freddie’s life. He adored his grandchildren Makenna Ewing, Dylan Ewing, Chloe Foster, Coen Foster, Kyla Parker, and Palin Parker.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents Amos Coy Churchill and Oda Pence Churchill, Ola Faye Willard (sister), Louise Dillard (sister), James Coy Churchill (brother), Billy Churchill (brother), Judy Thompson (sister), Bobby Churchill (brother),

A diligent worker at the local furniture factory for many years, Freddie took great pride in his craftsmanship. Through his dedication and commitment to excellence, he made an indelible mark on the industry he served. His colleagues recognized him as a reliable team member, always willing to lend a helping hand. Freddie’s strong work ethic and attention to detail were admired by all who worked alongside him.

Freddie Churchill will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted individual who valued his family above all else. His unwavering love and devotion left an everlasting impact on their lives. Freddie’s passion for music, his love for grandchildren, and his unwavering support for the New York Yankees will always be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 31, 2023, at Bethel Baptist in Etta, MS from 11:00am to 1:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Ewing, Coen Foster, Ian Foster, Josh Parker, Patrick Grisham and Gary Nesler

As family and friends gather to celebrate Freddie’s life, they find comfort in the memories that bind them together. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the joy he brought to each and every person fortunate enough to have known him. May his soul find eternal peace, knowing how deeply he was loved and how profoundly he will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorials to be made in honor of Mr. Churchill to the Alzheimer’s foundation.
