Garnet Matthew West, 53

November 28, 1969 – November 17, 2023

BOONEVILLE/Hobo Station Community — Garnet Matthew West, 53, passed away Friday, November 17, at his home. Garnet was born in West Memphis, Arkansas, on November 28, 1969, to the parents of Vivian Norton and Lonnie D. West. Garnet never met a stranger, wasn’t scared to get his hands dirty, never shied away from a home cooked meal, and was always lending a hand to help those in need. Garnet could build and fix anything! Growing up he enjoyed rebuilding vehicles, woodworking, and was an avid wrestling fan- watching and even participating in the sport. During racing season, you could always find him enjoying NASCAR on Sunday afternoons. Garnet lived most of his adult life in Pontotoc where he managed Pizza Hut and supervised and owned multiple Subways. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family.



A Celebration Visitation for Garnet will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM Friday, December 1, 2023, at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo, who are honored to serve the family. Survivors include his wife Stacy; two daughters, Paige Ray (Chris) and Alex Neal (David); two stepdaughters, Jordan Ivy (Blake) & Bradley Tate; 7 grandchildren, Kristin Ray, Axle Neal, Anniston Ivy, Skylar, Radien, Meilah & Koda; His mother Vivian Norton, His father Lonnie West (Betty); His sister Anna Jamison (Robert); a stepsister, Donna Tilley (David); two nephews Justin Chapman and Austin Chapman (Holly); a niece Brandi Torres (Micah); and a host of aunts, uncles and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Vera Mae Norton and Everett and Evelyn West; his uncle, Chuck West; and a nephew, Steven McCraw.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Jernigan, Pete Malone, Austin Chapman, Justin Chapman, Chris Ray, and David Neal
