Gary Fancher Lindsey, 75

September 3, 1948  –  February 1, 2024

NETTLETON – Gary Fancher Lindsey, 75, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024 at The Meadows in Fulton, MS after an extended illness. Gary was born on September 3, 1948 in Tupelo, MS to the late Marvin and Kathryn Lindsey. Gary married his best friend and love of his life, Diane Culver Lindsey in October of 1972.



Gary was a dedicated member of Richmond Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He was quiet and reserved but loved to entertain people with his daily biscuit chronicles, watching drag racing, riding his side by side and spending time at the shop with his brother Larry and friends. He enjoyed spending time as “Pop” to his grandchildren whom he loved very much. Gary’s fun personality will be remembered by his many family and friends. Gary farmed with his brother Larry for over 50 years. In the midst of farming, he retired from Lee County Soil and Water Conservation Service after 20 years of service.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Maxwell (Brian), his son Brian Lindsey (Tiffany), his grandchildren Anna Grace Lofton, Brodie Lindsey and Hudson Lindsey, his brother, Larry Lindsey (Nancy), his sister-in-law Kathy Culver, and a host of family members and special friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Culver Lindsey, and his parents, Marvin and Kathryn Lindsey.

Services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with visitation from 12 PM to 2 PM Sunday only. Private burial will follow at New Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Jeremy McMahan and Bro. Ben Johnson will officiate. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at 2 PM at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming and will be archived thereafter. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving its friends.

Pallbearers will be Billy Deaton, Phillip Waycaster, Michael Lindsey, Rodney Lindley, Bill Shumpert, and Bob Shumpert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Simmons and Bruce Partridge.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of The Meadows who provided excellent care during his time there.
