Gloria Alexander Grayson Carswell, 72

Mrs. Gloria Alexander Grayson Carswell was born January 31, 1954, in Alcorn County, Corinth, Mississippi to her late parents Ben and Iwillie Alexander and on April 17, 2026, Gloria passed away at her home in Olive Branch, MS with her husband and children by her side. Living in Dennistown where she grew up and graduated from Corinth High School she loved to read, the Bible being her favorite, travel and Praise God with her angelic voice.
After becoming an adult, Mrs. Gloria moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1980 where she continued her career with AT&T and eventually retired. During her time in California, she met the love of her life Mr. LeAndre Carswell who was by her side when she passed away. Gloria attended numerous churches in California before settling at Community Baptist Church in Fontana California. It was a home she absolutely loved and the place of her beautiful union in marriage. Gloria and LeAndre were bound in love and music. They successfully recorded two studio albums as GG & Lee.
In addition to her many accomplishments, she earned an Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies.
Our family has an empty space where our one-of-a-kind wife, mother, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend once resided. Gloria was a true Matriarch.

Her Sisters Beatrice Larry-Omaha, Nebraska; Dorothy Dotson (James)-Detroit, Michigan; Jean Williams-Corinth, MS; Mary Archer-Ridgeland, MS; Lizzie Finch-Corinth, MS; Una Carswell-Fontana, CA; Dauita Byrd- Memphis, TN
Her Brothers Orlando Alexander (Pam)-Memphis, TN; Turner Carswell-San Bernadino, CA and Quincy Carswell-Highland, CA.
Her Grandchildren TJ Grayson-Corinth, MS; Brandon Grayson-Corinth, MS; Kaitlyn Grayson-Southaven, MS; Orlando Grayson Jr-Olive Branch, MS; Shyheim Stewart(Morgan)-Southaven, MS, Rahsaan Stewart-Virginia Beach, VA; Kamani Carswell-San Bernadino, CA; Draiden Carswell-San Bernadino, CA; Jasaun Carswell-San Bernadino, CA and Jaxon Carswell-
Rialto, CA.
Her Great Grandchildren Joslynn and Jazlynn Stewart- Southaven, MS and a host of Nephews, Nieces and Cousins. Gloria’s siblings that preceded her in death were Charles Chuck Alexander, Morris Betts, Franklin Alexander, Betty Hearns, Jimmy Alexander and Patricia Boyd.
Gloria’s family is certainly grateful and appreciative to all of you who attended this celebration and we pray that as we continue to pray for you, you continue to pray for us, and God will keep us all in His arms.
