Wesley “Waldo” Boland, 48

September 28, 1977 – April 20, 2026

Pontotoc – Wesley “Waldo” Boland, 48, went to his eternal home on Monday, April 20, 2026, surrounded by his family at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born September 28, 1977, to his father, John Boland, and his mother, Karen Dearman (Terry).

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend. If you were to make an idol of someone, Waldo would be the one to look up to. He was a family man. Waldo was always present and never missed a moment to spend with his family. He put aside his enjoyments to raise and support his family. He was known to bring people together, often gathering with family bringing his famous mac and cheese and tenderloin. Nobody could match his cooking. In his earlier years, he was a member of Longview Baptist Church. Later, he began attending Belden Baptist Church with his wife.

In 1994, he met his bride to be, Melissa McCombs Boland. From beginning to end, they shared a bond that could not be broken. On August 1, 1998, they decided to tie the knot and begin a family. Although his friends knew him as Waldo, he made sure that Melissa had to call him Wesley. Together they raised two wonderful sons in whom Wesley took pride in. He coached his boys in t-ball, travel ball, and supported them through their school sports years.

Waldo enjoyed going to concerts with his wife. They were members of the Pontotoc Country Club, where they shared a passion for golf. He was an avid Ole Miss fan. If he couldn’t make it into the stadium, he was in The Grove cheering on Ole Miss. It was a goal of his to attend every home game, a goal he nearly achieved. He was full of life and loved his friends like his own family. Waldo was truly one of a kind, and many would say, “There will never be another Waldo.”

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Boland; father, John Boland; mother, Karen Dearman and her husband, Terry; two sons, Cole Boland (Ava), and Seth Boland (Savannah); grandson, Easton Boland; granddaughter, Ruby Bryan; sister, Angie Baldwyn (Josh); brother, TJ Dearman (Sarah); nieces, Laney and Lexie Baldwyn, and Della and Leddy Dearman; brother-in-law, Randy McCombs; father-in-law, Randy McCombs; special aunt, Janice Davidson; uncle, Randy Foster; special cousins; and his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ellis and Ray Foster, and Rex and Margaret Boland; uncle, Rook Foster; and mother-in-law, Patricia McCombs.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at Pegues, Tupelo.
