James Larry Lesley, 71

August 2, 1952 – February 11, 2024

James Larry Lesley was born August 2, 1952, in New Albany, MS and passed away on February 10, 2024.

Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joanne Cousar Lesley. He is also survived by his brother Herman Lesley, Jr. of New Albany, his 3 sons Brian Lesley (Emily) of Starkville, Ben Lesley and Matt Lesley of Tupelo, and his 8 grandchildren Beckett, John Scott, Cathryn, Dottie, Cam, Grace of Starkville, Gina Grace of New Albany, and Tessa Kate of Tupelo.

He was proceeded in death by his father Herman McCurry Lesley, Sr., mother Jessie Rachel Little Lesley (who died in 1955), stepmother Ella Earl Duke Lesley, and brother John David Lesley.

Larry lived his whole life in Union County and was a loyal friend to all who knew him. He graduated from W.P. Daniel High School in 1970. After high school, he attended NEMCC, Ole Miss, and served in the military. Larry worked at Futorian for 25 years, and he eventually retired from BenchCraft. In retirement, he loved watching his grandchildren play sports, spending time with family, and Tuesday road trips with a friend.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 13 at 10:00am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am at New Albany Presbyterian Church, where Larry was a member. In recent years, he attended Ebenezer Presbyterian Church and will be laid to rest there.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
