Sheryl Kathy Murphy, 65

Mooreville-Sheryl Kathleen Arnold Murphy, 65, departed this life and met her Creator on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 at her residence in Mooreville. Kathy was born on December 13, 1957 in Dallas, Tx. to the late William Thomas Arnold and Sharon Jeanine Breland. A Baptist by faith, Kathy spent most of her working life in retail sales. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately called her Nanny or Gran. Kathy loved all God’s creation and being outdoors, playing hatzee, and watching true crime and fiction crime shows on TV and movies. She cherished family events and was always the life of the party. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with sister, Loretta Underwood speaking and Bro.

Jacob Glass officiating. Private burial will follow at Doty Chapel Cemetery near Shannon. Visitation will be from 5PM-7PM Tuesday and from noon-service time on Wednesday all at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at

Kathy is survived by her children, Lisa Pettigo (Billy) of Nettleton, Deana Sanders (Chris) of Mantachie and Crissy Loudermilk of Mooreville; her mother, Betsy Arnold of Plantersville who raised her; her siblings, Edwina Hunt of Plantersville, Loretta Underwood of Mantachie; Tammy Russell of Dallas, Tx, Lisa Meza of Mesquite, Tx., Wayne Arnold of Plantersville and Greg Arnold of Plantersville; 8 grandchildren, Preston, Alexis, Christopher, Wesley, Harley, Jimmy, Blade and Bonnie; 11 great grandchildren and all their extended families.

Pallbearers are Chris and Wesley Sanders, Tim and Zaine Pettigo, Blade Hand and Blake White.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne and Greg Arnold, Michael Hunt, Preston Pettigo, Chris Sanders, Jr. ,

Billy Pettigo and Richard Wilson.
