Kevin D. McShan, 43

July 11, 1980 – August 28, 2023

Kevin Dewayne “Chief” McShan, son of W.B. and Daisy M. Wright McShan, was born July 11, 1980, in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was the youngest of two children. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Palmetto Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. He transitioned into the loving arms of God on Monday, August 28, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi, surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, the late Jessie and Essie B. McShan, and maternal grandparents, the late Albert and Jennie Wright.

Kevin graduated from Pontotoc High School in 1999. He attended Itawamba Community College. He was employed as a truck driver for Swift Trucking Company until his accident that left him disabled.

Kevin was full of fun and laughter. He loved children, older people, and football. He had a big heart, a million-dollar smile, and a charismatic personality to match.

To lovingly remember and cherish him are his parents, W.B. and Daisy McShan of Belden, MS; his sons, Kyleal McShan and Branden Harris of Belden, MS; daughter, Genesis Terrell of Pontotoc, MS; sister, Kimberly (Derek) Gandy of Birmingham, AL; two nieces, Mya Cayson and Madyson Gandy of Birmingham, AL; aunts, Lynda McShan Long of Augusta, GA, Pat (Walter) Berry of Tupelo, MS, Mary Bolden of Belden, MS; uncles, Sylvester McShan of Washington, DC, Jeffrey McShan preceded him in death, Al (Stephanie) Wright of Belden, MS, Rev. Ernie (Hazel) Wright of Belden, MS; his ex-wife, Cassandra Stevenson and her family of Tupelo, MS; special person, Shea Terrell and her family of Pontotoc, MS; and a host of cousins, friends, other relatives, and the Palmetto C.M.E. Church family.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Palmetto C.M.E. Church Life Center. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Palmetto C.M.E. Church Life Center.
