Lee County Sheriff makes arrests in car burglaries

On Oct. 5 the Lee County Sheriff’s Department responded to numerous reports of car burglaries that occurred in the early morning hours in the Mooreville area. Deputies responded and took reports of each vehicle burglarized, totaling twelve vehicles.

On Oct. 6 Investigators received a call from Oxford Police Department inquiring about car burglaries. Information was shared and Investigators with this office traveled to Oxford to interview the suspects.

After gathering information from those suspect’s it was determined that some of those suspects apprehended in Oxford were the same that burglarized the vehicles in Lee.

Three suspects were subsequently charged in Lee County with twelve counts of vehicle burglary. Two suspects are in custody in Lee County and one is currently being held in Lafayette County jail pending extradition to Lee County.

The suspects are Shelby Underwood (in the Lafayette County Jail), 18, Mantachie; Sophia Msyah, 18, Mantachie; and Darquavion Morrow, 22, Verona.
