LeRoy “Bud” Carver, 90

July 8, 1933 – August 24, 2023

LeRoy “Bud” Carver, 90, of New Albany, passed away on August 24, 2023. He was born in Charleston, Missouri, on July 8, 1933, to Haskell Lee Carver and Estal Holifield Carver. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and then continued his education at Murray State University, where he played football and ran track. Mr. Carver had the Tri-State Mack Truck dealership in Tupelo, which he opened in 1973. He was a United States Army veteran.



Mr. Carver leaves 2 daughters, Diane Carver Greer of Holly Springs, and Donna Carver Davin (Bill) of Rome, Georgia, and one sister, Leona Carver Sitzes of Atlanta. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Anna Greer Giachelli (Maury) of Blue Springs and Curtis Wright Greer (Mary) of Hickory Flat, and 2 great-grandchildren Hayes Gregory Giachelli and Julia Greer Giachelli of Blue Springs. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Tommye Lammey Carver.

Mr Carver was a favorite amongst his many friends and numerous nieces and nephews, and loved to entertain them with stories and random advice. He was an avid golfer, loved raising and showing Tennessee Walking horses, and his music. Most recently, he enjoyed trail riding in the mountains of Tennessee.

Private graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 5:00 pm, at Vista Memorial Park in New Albany. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
