Lisa was born on January 31, 1975, in Tippah County, to Dianne Hagle Formsma and the late Bob Formsma. She was a graduate of Ripley Christian School and continued her education at Northeast Mississippi Community College and later at Itawamba Community College. Lisa was employed as a Pharmacy Technician with Magnolia Regional Medical Center and Davidson Pharmacy.

She married her beloved husband, Jason Newell, on December 5, 1998. In addition to her husband, those left to cherish her memories include four children, Claire, Brandon, Preston, and Tyler (Lexi) Newell. She is also survived by her mother Dianne, and one brother, John Formsma (Miriam) of New Albany, and two sisters, Julie McAfee (Mitch) of Falkner, and Kathy Petersen (Chuck) of Albuquerque, NM. She also leaves behind her father- and mother-in-law, Harold and Cindy Newell, her brother-in-law Josh Newell, her sister-in-law Jennifer (Rockey) Newell Spiers. She will also be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is affectionately remembered for her beautiful smile that could light up a room. She was also known as a “giver” who took care of everyone, and for the love and kindness shown for her family and church. Lisa’s hobbies included playing pool, tending her flowers, and gardening, and she was adored by all animals including her two dogs, Pippa and Gabby. She enjoyed traveling, especially exploring and hiking in Colorado, and she also enjoyed Mexican food. But one of Lisa’s greatest accomplishments was homeschooling and sharing time with her husband and children.
