Local scouts, leaders tour DC and attend National Jamboree

Yocona and Chickasaw Councils’ Troop 4345 and Venture Crew 5264 contingent attended the 2017 Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree, held at Summit Bechtel Family National Reserve in WV on July 19-28.

They were lead by Dale Hayes- scoutmaster, Vance Perkins- Asst. Scout master, Robert Blake- Venture Crew leader and Daniel Wiseman (from New Albany)- Asst Crew Leader. Local Venturers from New Albany were John Davis and Tucker Shannon.

The Scouts and Venturers had an audience and breakfast with Senator Roger Wicker and Congressman Trent Kelly at the US Capitol while touring the nation’s Capital prior to the Jamboree.
