Lucille Harris, 69

May 30, 1957 – June 17, 2026

Lucille Harris was born on May 30, 1957, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, to the late Hudy Rogers and the late Lillian Weatherly Rogers; and she passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee, after a life marked by faith, kindness, and strength.

She was a member of Anderson Chapel C.M.E. Church in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and she taught Discipleship Class. Her faith was not something she simply spoke about. It was something she practiced through her actions, her example, and her commitment to helping others grow. She understood that a life rooted in Christ becomes a light to others, and she lived as that light in her church, her home, and her community.

Lucille found joy in the simple things that made life beautiful. She loved to work outside; enjoyed decorating and sewing, using her creativity to bring comfort and beauty into the lives of others. Family gatherings were especially dear to her heart, and she cherished the laughter that came with those treasured moments. She also loved fishing, a pastime that reflected her patience, peace, and appreciation for quiet joy.

She was preceded in death by her father Hudy Rogers and mother, Lillian Weatherly Rogers; six siblings, including two sisters and four brothers. Though those losses were deeply felt, Lucille carried herself with a strength that honored the memory of those who went before her.

Lucille leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Earnest Harris, of Holly Springs, Mississippi; lovingly remembered by her four sons, Calvin Richards, Tennail Richards, Steven Richards, and Tony Harris, all of Holly Springs, Mississippi; she is also survived by her three daughters, Donna Watson (Will) Smith, Katrina Mosley, and Celia Harris, all of Holly Springs, Mississippi. Her legacy continues through her 32 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Rogers and Eddy Rogers, and two sisters, Fannie Jean Jones, and Thelma Rogers, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
