Magnolia Civic Center presents Halloween Hotel Horror
New Albany, Miss., October, 23, 2019: Magnolia Civic Center and New Albany Main Street are hosting a murder mystery dinner on Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd. Five actors will play the core characters on both evenings. The event is dinner and theater with a twist.
These mysteries are written as interactive dinner theatre, with a series of scripts as well as interactive questioning by the guests. They are fun, theatrical, and exciting,” said Cathy Garrett. Cathy and her husband, Mark, have been long time participants in stage performances as well as advocates of the Magnolia Civic Center (MCC) and Ciné Theater.
The performance, “Halloween Hotel Horror,” is set in the at the grand Dunnem Inn where guests are always encouraged to join in with the festivities of Halloween during their stay. The problem is, at this particular evening’s dinner a REAL body is discovered. Billye Jean Stroud, director of Main Street and operations of the MCC and Ciné, added, “This is a Halloween themed mystery. People are invited to come in costume, ham it up, mingle with the other characters and figure out the clues throughout the evening.”
Little House Catering company will provide a three-course meal and soft drinks will be served. While dining, each table will work as a team to solve the crime. The winning team will receive a prize as well as team spirited bragging rights.
