Margie “Aunt-Re” Rogers, 93

September 14, 1930  –  December 12, 2023

PALMETTO – Margurie Gilmore Rogers met her Creator from her residence in the Palmetto Community of Lee County after living a long and fruitful life of 93 years. Margie, as many called her, was born in Lee County on September 14, 1930, to the late Eddie Jacob Gilmore and Maggie Evelena McMahan Gilmore. She lived most all of her life here, living many years in Verona. Margie was a fine soul who had a servant’s heart and looked perfectly after her family all her life. A master housewife and homemaker, she enjoyed her home always being cleaned and properly appointed and judiciously and firmly saw that her late husband, J. C., and her boys had everything they needed to survive and succeed. A longtime member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church in Pontotoc Co, Margie was a Godly woman whose faith sustained her through much loss and grief in her life. She endured the loss of her parents, her husband, JC, one of her two sons, Billy, and his wife, Ann, her only grandson, Randall Rogers, and all four of her siblings, Eddie Carl Gilmore, Lonnie Gilmore, Arlene Roberts, and Morie Bass. Through all this, her help was grounded firmly in her faith in God. Margie enjoyed good conversation, loved to cook, garden and quilt.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM Friday, Dec. 15, 2023 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with her pastor, Bro.
