Blue Springs-Mattie Lou Monaghan Wigington, 91, departed this life on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. She was born September 26, 1932 to T.C. Monaghan and Bertha Starling Monaghan. She was married to the late William Wigington since 1950. She was a homemaker and loved her family fiercely. She will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by two daughters, Terry Schlegel (Ronald) and Ronda Windham (Keith), two sons, Bill Wigington (Karyl) and David Wigington (Amy), one brother, Bill Monaghan of Amory, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, Annie Kirby, Ruby Griggs, Carolyn Duke, Virginia Dare Monaghan, and Maddie Long Johnson, and four brothers, Franklin Monaghan, B.H. Monaghan, Carol Monaghan, and Lincoln Monaghan.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
