Mississippi Art Colony Exhibit Celebrates its 75th Anniversary

An exhibit and sale of work by 24 artists will open at the Union County Heritage Museum on August 13, at 5:30- 7:00 p.m. The opening reception is free and open to the public.

The Mississippi Art Colony is located in Louisville, MS, and is recognized as the oldest artist-run non-profit art colony in the United States.  Twice yearly it hosts five-day fine art workshops at Lake Tiak O’Khata in Louisville. Each retreat features a distinguished guest artist/instructor who provides mentorship and daily guidance.

A curated exhibition featuring works produced by attending artists travels to various museums and regional galleries across Mississippi following the workshops. A variety of work by winners are among art featured in the museum exhibit.
