MS Covid-19 3APR20: All new deaths today are in Northeast MS

About the case count: The MS Department of Health currently updates its map and statistics each morning with test results from the previous day that were reported by 6:00 PM that day. Outside laboratories also report positive test results, which are included the totals. County case numbers and deaths may change as investigation finds new or additional information.

Mississippi statistics

For April 3, 2020: This morning MSDH is reporting 181 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi. Three new deaths have also been confirmed, in Chickasaw, Pontotoc and Tippah counties. The state total of cases since March 11 now stands at 1,358, with 29 deaths

MSDH reports 262 hospitalized Covid-19 cases in Mississippi. Positive cases in patients below the age of 40 account for 7.6% of hospitalizations today.

Northeast MS statistics area by county:

Ten of 15 northeast MS counties report new positive Covid-19 cases today. Chickasaw, Pontotoc and Tippah counties report new deaths, accounting for all of the new Mississippi deaths reported today.
