New Albany City Board approves funds for NA Electrical Project

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of New Albany held their regular meeting on July 5, 2023, at 5:30 PM. The meeting took place in the Boardroom of the City Hall.

  • The board passed a motion to re-zone 200 Futorian Way SN-8 to I-L during the public hearing.
  • Under departmental business, the board approved pay requests for various services, including design services for the NA Electrical Communication project and products/services for Automated Metering Infrastructure Project.
  • They also approved bids for Electric Communication Materials and warehousing services, a 4×4 Articulating Bucket Truck, and Electrical Distribution Materials for the Highway 2 Improvements.
  • Additionally, the board authorized the advertising of bids for the Construction of Electrical Distribution relocation and received emergency declaration for sewer repair.
  • The Board also provided their support for grant funding for the construction of Electric System Communication System on behalf of NALGW/ACE.

The Park & Recreation Department received approval for a new hire and a utility vehicle purchase of a 2023 John Deer Gator.

Additionally, Eric Thomas, the Head of Building Inspector/Zoning Administrator, announced that he was selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Building Officials Association at the annual conference in Gulfport held in June.

The meeting had no updates on the progress of the storm shelter.

After discussing routine matters, a motion was made to go into executive session. The next meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, August 2, 2023, at 5:30 pm.
