UPDATED 5:58PM New Albany police seek Jonathan Lashon Scales, considered armed & dangerous

Jonathan Lashon Scales was taken into custody shortly after 5 PM today by the New Albany Police Department.

NAPD Chief Chris Robertson said the quick capture of Scales was a result of the publicity and the help police receive from people of New Albany.

“It’s a good example,” said Robertson, “of the fact that, if we get the word out, the people of New Albany are very good to help.”

Scales was at large for less than four hours after the armed robbery in Shady Grove Park.

The New Albany police department is seeking to arrest Jonathan Lashon Scales in connection with an armed robbery about 1:30 this afternoon at Shady Grove park.

He is said to have robbed a group of teenagers at gunpoint.

Scales is 6’5” tall, weighs 175 pounds with medium dark complexion, born October 10, 1997. He was last known to be living at Twin Creeks trailer park.

Scales was last known to be driving a dark colored Toyota Corolla,  Florida tag number Q7VF28.

He should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not attempt to detain him, but call 911 with any information as to his whereabouts.
