Ole Miss Club meets, raises scholarship funds

New Albany, MS- The Union County Ole Miss Club had their summer meeting August 11th at The Basement, in downtown New Albany.

President Mary Catherine Shands is hoping to grow the Union County club. Board members are Mark McClinton, Amanda Alexander, and Leslie Swords.

Guest speakers were Ross Bjork, Ole Miss Athletic Director, and former Ole Miss baseball player, Kirk Purdom, Executive Director of Ole Miss Alumni Affairs.

There was a great turnout for the meeting and money was raised for local scholarships, to be awarded to a couple of Union County and New Albany seniors who plan on attending Ole Miss.

Tallahatchie Gourmet provided the food, and multiple local business donated door prizes and silent auction items.
