Overturned tractor-trailer truck blocks I-22 lane/UPDATED

New Albany, MS – UPDATE – 6:00 PM 5/20/19: As of 6:00 PM this evening, the east bound lane of I-22 is reopened to traffic, following clean-up of a trailer-truck accident this morning.

New Albany, MS – UPDATE – 12:55 PM 5/20/19:  Emergency personnel expect to finish clean-up at the site of trailer-truck accident on I-22 and have eastbound lanes open by early evening today. I-22 westbound is open, though traffic is moving a little slowly.

New Albany, MS – A tractor trailer truck overturned on I-22 east of Highway 15 about 8:30 am Monday, blocking the east bound lanes.

Motorists going both ways on I-22 are advised to take an alternate route between New Albany and Blue Springs.

As of 9:30 am the truck driver had been taken to the hospital with injuries.
