Phillip Whiteside, 74

March 18, 1950 – March 23, 2024

Phillip Maxey Whiteside, 74 passed away Saturday March 23, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born March 18, 1950 to James and Faye Whiteside. He served the community for years as an EMT at Baptist Memorial Union County and then later at United Funeral Services. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Phil was an avid golfer, bass fisherman and loyal Ole Miss fan. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son-in-law, and brother.
He is survived by a wife of 52 years Shelba, mother-in-law Marjorie Merritt, daughters Emily Childers (Guy), Christy Bullock (Jalon); brothers Terry (Angie), Keith (Donna), and four grandchildren, Anslie Mills (Tripp), Becca Childers, Lilly Cate Childers, and Max Bullock and one great grandchild Henry Mills. He was preceded in death by his brother Allen.
Pallbearers are the Adult Senior Men’s Sunday School Class and honorary pallbearers are his longtime Golfing Buddies and special friends Dennis Spencer and Gale Manning.
Visitation will be Monday March 25th at Hillcrest Baptist Church at 4:00pm with the funeral to follow at 5 pm. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church
