Popular Pioneer Days History event returns to museum
Living history is the theme of the annual Pioneer Days event at the Union County Heritage Museum at 114 Cleveland Street in New Albany.
Join us on September 29-30, 9AM – 2PM, as we bring history to life with stories of Mississippi’s past, old time toys and games, hands-on activities for children about the way “it used to be”.
Help us celebrate Mississippi ‘s bicentennial year with a celebration of the pioneer spirit.
Friday is for school groups and Saturday is a family event.
Pioneer games on Saturday will include corn shelling, sack races, stick horse rodeo, egg and spoon races, watermelon seed spitting contest and much more. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded.
Pioneer Days Living History is a free event, made possible by the museum’s Community Sponsors. If you would like to volunteer, or for more information, call 662-538–0014.
