Pleasant Grove Community Gears Up for Exciting 2024 Heritage Days Celebration

Pleasant Grove Community, Union County, MS] –The vibrant community of Pleasant Grove is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated 2024 Heritage Days festival, set to take place from Friday, August 9th to Sunday, August 11th. This beloved annual event promises a weekend filled with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, delicious food, and a celebration of the rich history and culture of our 139-year-old community.

This year’s Heritage Days festival will showcase a diverse range of attractions and events designed to delight attendees of all ages. From the lively “welcome home” reception that kicks off the festivities on Friday evening to the exciting homecoming day church services, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the local arts and crafts vendors, indulge in delectable treats from a variety of food offerings, and take part in traditional games and competitions. Live music performances featuring talented local artists will provide the perfect soundtrack for a weekend of fun and relaxation.

“We are thrilled to welcome members of the Pleasant Grove community and visitors from near and far to join us for this year’s Heritage Days celebration,” said Rev. Ronnie Driver, Pastor of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

“This festival is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together, celebrate our heritage, and create lasting memories with friends and family,” said Casey Keys, event program coordinator.

In addition to the entertainment and activities, the Heritage Days festival will also feature educational exhibits and displays highlighting the history and traditions of Pleasant Grove. Attendees will have the chance to learn more about the cultural heritage that makes our community unique and vibrant.

Pleasant Grove church family is pleased to inform you that you are cordially invited to our 139th Annual Homecoming ‘Heritage Days’ weekend events. These events will take place from the dates of Friday, August 9, 2024 through Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Each evening’s events, leading up to Homecoming Sunday, August 11th, will take place on the church grounds located at 1010 County Road 91, New Albany, MS 38652. The schedule of times and details are outlined below:

Friday, August 9th, 6 PM – 8 PM: “Meet and Greet”: Out-of-town guests meet and fellowship with community guests.

Saturday, August 10th, 8 AM: “Cemetery Memorial”: Members, family, and friends meet at Pleasant Grove’s cemetery for a light clean up and memorial for past members.

Saturday, August 10th, 5 PM – 9 PM: “Heritage Days Cookout”: Fun, food, and entertainment for family, friends, guests, and surrounding communities

Sunday, August 11th, 11 AM & 2:30 PM: “Homecoming Sunday”: Annual Homecoming services with Minister Lamont Siddell for morning worship and Pastor Richard Hairston and West Camp MB Church as our afternoon guests.
