Red wine or white on the first day of April?
The two blue pipes have been sticking up on the west side of the Tallahatchie Gourmet parking lot in New Albany for a long time.
The first day of April seemed a good time to discover their purpose and put them to use. And the discovery couldn’t have come at a better time with social distancing being the watchword.
Following St. Paul’s admonition “use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake” without even entering the building was more than appropriate!
One pipe for red wine, the other for red.
Tallahatchie Gourmet’s Kristen Olson, a graduate student at Ole Miss, demonstrated the special service Wednesday afternoon. It was uncertain whether the service would continue after All Fool’s Day ends at midnight.
It is certain that Tallahatchie Gourmet offers carry out service from 11 a.m. to 7:30 pm Monday through Saturday, continuing dependable food service to its customers during the COVID-19 crisis.
Call Tallahatchie Gourmet at 662-534-3250 to place your take-out order.
Tomorrow NEMISS.NEWS expects to publish a list of local full service restaurants offering carry out service while “shelter in place” is in force.
