UPDATED: Region’s Bank in New Albany is closed…again
UPDATED 3:45PM 9-3-2020:
As of late afternoon on September 3rd, 2020, it appeared that the New Albany Regions Bank is open for business at the drive-through.
ORIGINAL POST:
The Regions Bank branch on Bankhead Street in new Albany is closed yet again.
The bank was closed for a number of days during July with signs posted telling customers to go do their business at a Regions branch in Tupelo.
Bank officials explained then that the closing was due to an employee having been infected with coronavirus. They then said they were implementing plans for emergency coverage so the branch would not have to be closed in the future.
However, it has been closed since early this week. Posted signs do not say why.
There are now signs at the Bankhead branch telling customers they can go either to Regions branches in Tupelo or one in Ripley.
Thus, Regions customers have at least gained one option they didn’t have six weeks ago: they can now drive to Ripley to do their banking.
