Rickey Harold Gammell, 71

February 4, 1953 – February 18, 2024

Rickey Harold Gammell, 71, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 18, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in New Albany, MS, February 4, 1953, to Dorothy Swords Gammell and Elbert Gammell. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was a self-employed pressure washer.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a special Pops that loved his grandchildren dearly, and a great friend who never met a stranger. He was a huge Ole Miss fan, enjoyed traveling, and was a beach lover. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Baptist Church in New Albany, MS. Bro. Creighton White and Bro. Andrew Chesteen will officiate, and several close friends will also speak to honor his memory. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery, in Myrtle, MS. United Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with these services.
He is survived by his loving wife, Regina Keenum Gammell, daughters, Robyn Gammell Pounds (Wes),
Traci Gammell Camferdam (Kevin), Kellye Gammell Shearon (Jon), stepdaughter, Robin Merritt Perkins (Ashly), stepson, Brandon Brevard (Megan), sister, Vickie Ann Johnston (Chris), and grandchildren, Madison Rutledge, Micah Moran, Macye Moran, Ellie Escobar, Gresham Melton, Griffin Melton, Price Pounds, Conlee Kate Pounds, Keenum Perkins, Parker Jo Brevard, and Carsyn Jane Brevard. He was preceded in death by his, parents and his Stepdad, James Merritt.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
