Robert Alton Pace, 68

July 1, 1955 – November 12, 2023

SHANNON – Robert Alton Pace, 68, of Shannon, MS, completed his life’s journey on November 12, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center surrounded by his wife and three daughters after an extended illness.



Robert was born on July 1, 1955, to Marcus C. Pace and Bettie Catherine Ainsworth Pace in Meridian, MS. After Robert graduated from West Lauderdale High School in 1973, he went on to further his education at the University of Southern Mississippi. Robert had a passion for reading, music, mind stimulating games, sports, and the University of Southern Mississippi.

Robert retired as a Field Project Supervisor from Walmart after 20 years. Since retirement did not suit him, he then worked for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal as a Circulation Field Manager and then as a Carrier until he decided to retire completely in 2022.

A Service celebrating Robert’s life will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at 6:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until service time Thursday at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Fay Pace of Shannon; his three daughters, Stefanie Pace Melton of Tupelo, Robin Pace Bradshaw of Amory, and Karen Pace of Nettleton; his three grandchildren, Lyndon Melton, Robert Bradshaw, and Rebekah Bradshaw; his brother, David Pace (Linda Pace) of Chester, Virginia; plus several nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and great nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Catherine; his brother, Albert Pace, and sister, Rebecca Zarecki; and his grandson, Kendall Shaw.
