Robert Estol Lee, 81
January 18, 1945 – October 2, 2026
Robert Estol Lee, age 81, went home to be with the Lord October 2nd, 2026 surrounded by love.
Born on January 18, 1945, in Charleston, Mississippi, Robert lived a life marked by faith, devotion to family, service to his country, and pride in the things he loved.
Robert was born to Herold Estol Lee and Juanita Eloise Smith Lee, both of whom preceded him in death.
Robert was also preceded in death by his brothers, John Austin and Gary Blane, and by his beloved son, Benjamin Austin.
He leaves behind his wife, Jamie Louise Lee.
Robert is survived by his children, Rebecca Louise, Robert Thomas, and Victoria Lynn; his brother, Larry Wayne; and many other family members and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army and Tennessee Army National Guard. During his years of service, he attained the rank of Specialist 4 and served as a Heavy Vehicle Driver. He was also awarded the Expert Rifle Badge, reflecting his dedication and discipline during his military service.
Robert had a special passion for classic cars, especially his beloved 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass.
Robert never missed an opportunity to brag on that paint job. He took immense pride in caring for that car, keeping it spotless inside and out. He frequently entered it in car shows, winning many trophies over the years. Robert was so pleased to learn recently that his grandson was restoring his Cutlass and already adding to the trophy collection.
Robert also had a deep love for our family pets. They always seemed to gravitate to him and brought him much joy and companionship. Robert often shared one of his favorite sayings: “Be the kind of person your dog believes you are.” That simple phrase reflected the kindness, loyalty, and gentle heart he carried.
Above all else, Robert loved the Lord.
He was a Christian who spoke often about his faith and the peace it gave him. In recent years, he frequently expressed gratitude to God for saving his soul. He often quoted Scripture, saying, “Repent and be baptized for forgiveness of your sins.” He would finish with quiet confidence: “I did, and I am.”
Robert found comfort in his faith and was at peace with eternity. He often said, “When it’s my time, I know I’m going to Heaven to be with Jesus and my mom and dad.”
Robert and Jamie were deeply grateful for those who loved, supported, and cared for him during the last several years, especially when he needed it most. A special and heartfelt thank you goes to James Edward Turner, whose love, sacrifice, and faithful care helped ensure Robert could remain at home surrounded by family. His kindness, patience, and dedication meant more than words can express.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, those who loved him take comfort in knowing he is now healed, at peace, and home with the Lord.
