Rocky Ellis, 67

January 15, 1956 – November 21, 2023

Rocky Ellis of the Evergreen Community passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Sanctuary Hospice House. He was born on January 15, 1956, to Charles Ellis and Ruth McCollum Ellis. From an early age Rocky began and continued throughout his life to attend Richmond Pentecostal Church. Rocky was a selfless man who focused his attention on spending time with his family. He loved all his family, but he had a special unbreakable bond with his youngest grandson, Oliver. Rocky enjoyed the simplicities of life. He entertained himself by fishing, hunting, boating and tinkering on old cars.



Rocky is survived by his four children, Shanna Downs (David) of Mooreville, Dana Ellis of Mooreville, Chana Ellis (Jacob Brady) of Dorsey, and Chance Ellis of Jackson; four grandchildren, Sianna Downs, Sadie Downs, Audrey Downs, and Oliver Grantham; one sister, Judy Peters (Jake) of the Evergreen Community; one brother, Charles Ellis, Jr. (Lynn) of Tupelo; and his beloved dog, Ziggy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dorisha Ellis; and one brother, Robert Ellis.

Visitation will be 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday November 25, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring his life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Ricky Pierce, Rev. John McAllister and Rev. Terry Harden officiating. Burial will follow at Priceville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Louis Reese, Michael Smith, Johnny White, David Payne, Danny Harden, and Wayne White.
